Arnold Harberger

Harberger has studied the inflation syndrome, distributional weights, basic needs and other systematic ways of incorporating non-economic considerations into economic analysis, taxation and international capital flows, and international comparisons of rates of return to capital.

He is a Fellow of the Econometric Society (1967), member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences since 1972, member of the National Academy of Sciences since 1992, President of the American Economic Association (1997-8), and he received the Bradley Prize for Outstanding Achievement in 2009.
