Guillermo Ordonez

Associate Professor of Economics

Professor Ordonez is a macroeconomist who studies financial crises and information imperfections in financial markets. Recent working papers include "How Central Banks End Crises," "Political Booms, Financial Crises," "Banks as Secret Keepers," and "Crises and Productivity in Good Booms and in Bad Booms."

He joined the University of Pennsylvania faculty after three years at Yale. He also a Faculty Research Fellow at the NBER. He received his PhD from UCLA and comes to Penn after three years at Yale University. He earned his doctorate at University of California, Los Angeles.
