Justin Grimmer's research research interests include American political institutions and Congressional elections. He focuses on developing and applying new statistical models for political texts. His recently completed book employs a new statistical model for political texts to demonstrate that the ways in which legislators relate to constituents have wide ranging consequences for representation.

Grimmer is an assistant professor in Stanford University's Department of Political Science. Before arriving at Stanford, he received his PhD from Harvard University's Department of Government.
