Kinda Cheryl Hachem

Kinda Hachem studies macroeconomics, banking, and the interactions therein. Prior to earning her PhD in economics from the University of Toronto, she worked as an economist in the Bank of Canada’s monetary and financial analysis arm.

Hachem’s research has garnered a number of graduate awards, including a Doctoral Fellowship from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada and a Hartle Award for outstanding policy-relevant scholarship from the Rotman Institute for International Business. She is also the recipient of a Teaching Excellence Award from the University of Toronto’s Economics Department.

In addition to a PhD, Hachem’s tenure at the University of Toronto includes an MA in economics and an Honours BSc in economics - quantitative methods (conferred with high distinction). Her bachelor’s degree was accompanied by the Lorne T. Morgan Gold Medal which recognized her as the leading economics student in her senior class. Hachem was also a student analyst at RBC Financial Group throughout her pre-doctoral studies.
