The Cost of Policy Uncertainty

Supported by the MacArthur Foundation

Spurred by economic turmoil and unprecedented policy responses to the financial crisis, the Becker Friedman Institute won funding from the MacArthur Foundation to launch a research project on the economic impact of policy uncertainty. That project supports innovative research among University of Chicago economists and highlights leading work of others  who are examining the costs and ramifications of uncertainty for investors, businesses, taxpayers, and the policymakers themselves. This series of policy briefings and videos provides an in-depth examination of how researchers are exploring the effects of uncertainty on different aspects of the economy and public policy.
