The 2019 Economics Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) offers students a unique summer opportunity to learn about diverse research topics and methods from some of the University’s most prominent economists, while developing their own research and data analysis skills. The annual program is presented by the Kenneth C. Griffin Department of Economics’ Undergraduate Program and the Becker Friedman Institute for Economics.

The program includes faculty research presentations held during lunch hours, along with working sessions on the use of specific research tools and software. These sessions will be offered for students at intermediate and advanced levels. For successful completion of the program, students are expected to attend all faculty presentations and selected working sessions.

Lunch is provided. This event is open to all students on campus during the summer but you must register in advance. We can’t accommodate walk-ins.

For additional information, check out the video overview of the Research Experience for Undergraduates and feel free to contact BFI-Events@uchicago.edu.
