Doctoral students in economics organized a two-day conference for interested in applied topics and empirical methods in economics to be held Oct. 1-2 at Northwestern University. The conference offered students an excellent opportunity to present their work, exchange ideas with their peers, and receive feedback from a discussant and a diverse audience.
Matt Notowidigdo (Northwestern) and Alessandra Voena (University of Chicago) gave the keynote talks, and faculty members from both organizing universities attended the presentations.
The conference was jointly sponsored by the economics departments at Northwestern University and the University of Chicago. It was supported by the Center for the Study of Development Economics, the Becker-Friedman Institute, and the Buffett Institute at Northwestern University.
