Opportunities and Challenges for China and Beyond

The Becker Friedman Institute for Economics in China (BFI-China) and the Bank for International Settlements (BIS) co-hosted a conference with the theme of “Opportunities and Challenges for China and Beyond” on November 17-18, 2023 at the Francis and Rose Yuen Campus in Hong Kong.

The conference explored how China’s sectoral opportunities and challenges intersect with global dynamics, including but not limited to economic growth, fintech, international finance, and environment. Through panel discussions, keynote speeches, interactive workshops, and networking sessions, this conference facilitated collaborative efforts and fostered a deeper understanding of the headwinds facing China’s economy, and also prospects for the future.
