In this Becker Brown Bag talk, Stanford Professor Matthew Gentzkow shared research that measured polarization and confirmed that it is on the rise, most significantly among older Americans. A recent study shows that people are likely to recall “fake fake news”—unpublished stories the researchers made up—when they fit their views. Fake news was unlikely to have effected election results, however.
