The Becker Friedman Institute for Economics (BFI) has announced the launch of the Ronzetti Initiative for the Study of Labor Markets, bringing together leading University of Chicago scholars from across campus to address questions about the factors that influence outcomes for workers, employers, and the larger economic landscape.

Magne Mogstad, a leading researcher in the areas of labor economics and public economics, will serve as Director of the Ronzetti Initiative. Mogstad, the Gary Becker Professor in Economics at the University of Chicago, is motivated by the broad question of how to address market failures and equalize opportunities. Mogstad is known for providing empirical evidence that allows us to test economic theories and inform policymakers. He is the recipient of the prestigious Alfred P. Sloan Foundation Fellowship and the IZA Young Labor Economist Award.

The initiative is endowed by Richard Keith Ronzetti, a member of the BFI Council and former Global Head of Investment Analysis & Asset Management, and Global Head of Research with Marathon Asset Management, LP.
