The Tsinghua University – University of Chicago Joint Research Center for Economics and Finance is pleased to announce its inaugural award of 10 new research grants. Each research team receiving awards includes faculty from both the University of Chicago and Tsinghua University, and preference was given to teams whose primary findings will become available within 24 months.

The goal of these awards is to support frontier academic research that provides new understanding and insights on the Chinese economy broadly and on important issues in Chinese economic policy.  Topics range from trade dynamics to energy, housing, politics and more. Grants are intended to support a number of research activities, including but not limited to the purchase of data, hiring of research assistants, and travel.
