Douglas Solberg is a communications intern at the Becker Friedman Institute for Economics and a first-year undergraduate student at the University of Chicago, where he is pursuing a degree in economics and computer science. He is originally from Stockholm, Sweden, and has a strong background in digital media production. Previously, Douglas worked as a design intern at a Stockholm-based mobile app development company and founded a production company offering services in cinematography, photography, graphic design, and web development.
In addition to his commercial work, Douglas has worked in the non-profit sector. In late 2021, he founded his own organization that has successfully installed 30 solar energy systems in rural areas of Tanzania. He is also interested in machine learning and has prior experience as a software engineering intern at a news organization in Boston.
