Jonathan Vogel’s research has focused on the development of theoretical models for international trade. He has also studied the relationships between wage inequality, technology, and trade.
Before joining the Columbia University faculty in 2008, he taught at University of California, Los Angeles. He is currently a senior scholar at the Jerome A. Chazen Institute of International Business and a faculty research fellow at the National Bureau of Economic Research.
In 2012, he was awarded the Alfred P. Sloan Research Fellowship and an Excellence in Refereeing Award from the American Economic Review. His work has appeared in the Journal of Political Economy, the Journal of International Economics, and the Review of Economic Studies.
He earned his PhD from Princeton University and his BA from Columbia University.
