Joseph Shapiro is the Assistant Professor of Economics. He serves, also, as a Faculty Research Fellow for the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER) and a faculty fellow at the Institution for Social and Policy Studies.
His research interests include environmental and energy economics, public policy, trade economics and health economics. He has won the National Science Foundation Grant from 2015-2018, and in 2017, he won the Arthur Greer Memorial Prize for Outstanding Scholarly Publication or Research.
He received his Ph.D. in Economics at MIT.
