Magne Mogstad pursues research questions surrounding public economics, labor economics, and applied econometrics.

Mogstad is a professor of economics at the University of Chicago, and formerly served as an assistant professor of economics at University College London from 2011 through 2014. He has also held posts at the National Bureau of Economic Research, Institute for Fiscal Studies, and Statistics Norway.

He received his PhD in economics from the University of Oslo, and is a current member of the scientific program committee for Royal Economic Society Conferences.
