Malika Korganbekova is an Assistant Professor at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. Korganbekova got her PhD in Quantitative Marketing from Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University. Her research applies tools from causal inference, empirical industrial organization, and machine learning to study the impact of technology on societal issues, with the focus on privacy, data regulation, and sustainability. Korganbekova received her MSI A.G. Clayton Best Dissertation Proposal, ISMS Sheth Foundation Dissertation award, and Shankar-Spiegel Best Dissertation Proposal awards for her dissertation work. Korganbekova holds Master’s degrees in Economics from Penn State and Central European University, and an undergraduate degree in Economics from Lomonosov Moscow State University.
