Maryam Salihu is a PhD student at American University in Washington, DC. Her research interests lie at the intersection of development and labor economics. One strand of her research evaluates how government interventions shape human capital accumulation and labor market outcomes, with a focus on sub-Saharan Africa. She was previously a consultant at the World Bank and an Analyst at Abt Associates. She holds a Master of Public Policy from the University of Massachusetts Boston and a Master of Arts in Economics from Georgia State University.
