Rosa Matzkin is a professor of economics at the University of California, Los Angeles. Her research is aimed at creating a tight connection between econometrics and economic theory, using structural economic models to estimate and test properties of unobserved nonparametric functions and distributions. Estimates obtained from these methods can be used to predict choices and equilibrium outcomes when structures change.

She received her doctorate from the University of Minnesota and has served on the faculties of Yale University and Northwestern University.
