Monika Piazzesi researches financial economics, macroeconomics, and applied time series, and has developed influential models of the yield curve for bonds.

In addition to her faculty appointment at Stanford University, she is director of the Asset Pricing Group at the National Bureau of Economic Research and a Guggenheim Fellow for the 2015-2016 year. Prior to joining the Stanford faculty, Piazzesi taught at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and at the University of California, Los Angeles’ Anderson School of Business. She has also served as a monetary advisor to the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis.

Piazzesi has received numerous awards for her teaching and research. She holds a diploma in economics from the University of Bonn in Germany and PhD in economics from Stanford University.
