Frederico Finan focuses his research in the fields of applied microeconomics, development economics, and political economy. His recent publications concern topics related to electoral accountability and education.
Finan currently teaches at the University of California, Berkeley as an assistant professor of economics. He is an affiliate of the Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (JPAL), the Center of Evaluation for Global Action (CEGA), and the Bureau for Research and Economic Analysis of Development (BREAD). He is a faculty research fellow at the National Bureau of Economic Research and a Research Fellow at the Institute for the Study of Labor (IZA).
Finan holds a BA in mathematics and economics from University of Arizona and a PhD in agricultural and resource economics from University of California, Berkeley.
