Eric Hernandez is the Senior Officer of Digital Media and Data Visualization at the Becker Friedman Institute for Economics, where he leads the creation of digital media that translates economic research for global audiences of policymakers, media professionals, academics, and the general public. With a background in video production, data visualization, and digital storytelling, he transforms complex ideas into compelling stories that contribute to an informed and engaged public.
Eric has been at the University of Chicago since 2015, previously managing digital media projects at the Energy Policy Institute at UChicago (EPIC). His career spans diverse organizations — from political initiatives like President Obama’s Organizing for Action as a social media and communications fellow, to government agencies such as Argonne National Laboratory developing marketing campaigns, and across various academic institutions and startups leading digital communications strategies.
