Jessica Zigmond is the Senior Director of Global Communications at the Becker Friedman Institute, where she leads internal and external communications. In this role, she promotes Chicago Economics research and BFI resources and programming to the media, business, government, not-for-profit leaders, and the University of Chicago academic community and alumni.
Most recently, Jessica served as vice president of communications at the National Association for Behavioral Healthcare, where she helped advance the association’s messaging to advocate for the nation’s mental health and substance use disorder treatment providers.
Jessica has spent her career in journalism and public relations, including roles as Washington bureau chief for Crain’s Modern Healthcare and positions at Ketchum, Hager Sharp, Reuters America, and The Society of Thoracic Surgeons.
Jessica holds an MSJ from Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism and a BA in political science from Saint Mary’s College.
