Leland Bybee is an assistant professor of finance at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. Much of his work leverages machine learning and natural language processing to address key questions in economics and finance. Bybee’s current focus is on developing measures of beliefs with applications to asset pricing and behavioral economics.

Before Booth, Bybee received a PhD in financial economics from the Yale School of Mangement, a master’s degree in statistics from the University of Michigan, and completed his undergraduate degree in economics at the University of Chicago.
