Will Troske is a PhD Student in Agricultural and Resource Economics at the University of California, Davis. His research joins environmental economics and industrial organization to study how firms and consumers respond to environmental policy. His dissertation examines how US maritime emissions regulation altered shipping markets. Using a dynamic model of firm entry and exit, he shows how compliance costs combined with incomplete regulation impacted prices, market structure, and environmental outcomes. Prior to his PhD, he worked as a process engineer for Advanced Plating Technologies. He earned a Master of Arts in economics from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, and a Bachelor of Science in Engineering in chemical engineering from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.
