Jalyn Allen (she/they) is a rising senior at Brandeis University studying Economics and Mandarin Chinese. Originally hailing from New York City, she attends university as a Posse Scholar. She works as a peer advisor at the Brandeis Hiatt Career Center and is a Residential Advisor for the Department of Community Living. She also served as a Co-President for the Femmes of Color Alliance Club on campus. She is currently researching the economic behavior of newly freed black Americans between the Antebellum and Jim Crow Eras. In her free time, she likes crocheting, drawing, and listening to music. She is looking forward to learning more about how economic theory informs real-world decisions and connecting with other people of color in this field.
