Simoni Jain is a second-year PhD student at University of California, Berkeley (UCB), in the Business and Public Policy (BPP) group at the Haas School of Business. Her research interests lie in labor and development economics, and she is currently exploring questions that are central to labor markets in developing economies, specifically India. Thanks to the interdisciplinarity of the BPP program at UCB, she is also getting trained in political economy and industrial organization. She graduated from the University of Chicago with a Masters in Policy Analysis (MACRM) in 2019, and she completed her BA (honors) in Economics from University of Delhi, India. Before moving to UCB for her PhD, she did a predoctoral fellowship at EPIC and has previously worked at J-PAL South Asia.
