Vedant Monger is a Predoctoral Research Professional with the Industrial Organization Initiative at the Becker Friedman Institute, where he works with Prof. Ali Hortaçsu. His research applies structural econometrics and causal inference to questions in market design and regulation spanning projects on data-center location choice in the US; electricity market auctions and procurement in Canada and India; and spectrum auctions and downstream telephony markets in India. He is broadly interested in the intersection of law, economics, and policy, and in how rules shape outcomes in regulated and networked industries. Before joining BFI, Vedant earned an MPP from the Harris School of Public Policy at the University of Chicago and was a Bastiat Fellow at the Mercatus Center.
