Ariel is a PhD student at the Hebrew University Economics Department and the Center for the Study of Rationality. His primary research topics are political, public and health economics as well as the economics of Israel. A key theme in his research is the importance of establishing the “basic facts” correctly, whether it is issues of death, taxes, labor market outcomes etc.
Due to the interdisciplinary nature of his interests and research, he has been fortunate to lead and collaborate with researchers from a wide variety of fields (Economics, Demography, Epidemiology, Law, Statistics, etc.). He believes economists can learn a lot from these fields and that in turn, these fields gain a lot from “the economist’s toolkit”.
