Join us for a book talk with Financial Times columnist and podcaster Soumaya Keynes, co-author of How to Win a Trade War, a timely exploration of the new era of global economic competition.
For decades, global trade operated largely in the background. Today, tariffs, export restrictions, subsidies, and other economic tools have brought trade policy to the forefront of international affairs with consequences for markets, businesses, consumers, and geopolitical relationships.
In How to Win a Trade War, Keynes and co-author Chad P. Bown examine how we arrived at this new era of economic competition and what it means for the future of global trade. Drawing on history and economics, the book explores the tools countries are using to compete, the lessons the West can learn from China, and the potential consequences of escalating trade conflict. Keynes will discuss the book’s central questions: What does it mean to “win” a trade war? What would all-out economic warfare look like? And how can countries prepare for an increasingly uncertain global trading system?
The first 25 attendees will receive a free copy of “How to Win a Trade War” at the event.
