Becker Friedman Institute (BFI) events are open to all invitees who are compliant with all relevant UChicago and BFI testing and vaccination requirements and, because of ongoing health risks, particularly to the unvaccinated, participants are expected to adopt the risk mitigation measures (masking and social distancing, etc.) appropriate to their vaccination status as advised by public health officials or to their individual vulnerabilities as advised by a medical professional. Public convening may not be safe for all and carries a risk for contracting COVID-19, particularly for those unvaccinated. Participants will not know the vaccination status of others and should follow appropriate risk mitigation measures.
The University of Chicago complies with the Chicago Department of Public Health Travel Advisory. If you are unvaccinated and traveling from outside of Chicago, please review and comply with these requirements.
UNIVERSITY OF CHICAGO AND BFI VACCINE AND TESTING REQUIREMENTS
All presenters and attendees for BFI seminars, events and conferences must comply with all relevant UChicago and BFI testing and vaccination requirements before participating in on-campus, in-person activities. At this time, BFI is not allowing outside guests access to BFI events without the required documentation.
UCHICAGO FACULTY, STAFF AND STUDENTS
UChicago employees and students are required to comply with UChicago vaccination requirements in order to engage in on-campus and in-person University activities; therefore, presentation of a current UChicago ID is an acceptable indicator of compliance.
OUTSIDE VISITORS AND GUESTS
Outside guests must complete a current attestation form, and one of the three following forms of documentation: (1) proof of vaccination; (2) proof of a negative COVID-19 test result taken with 72 hours of the event, or (3) proof of a positive COVID-19 test result dated 14-90 days prior to the event (click here for detailed guidance).
Visitors should send the attestation form and required vaccine or testing documentation to bfi-safety@uchicago.edu no later than 48 hours prior to the event.
