Anja Jolin

Anja Jolin is a Research Professional at the Energy Policy Institute working for Michael Greenstone on projects related to energy and environmental economics and policy. She holds a B.A. in Economics and Environmental Studies with Highest Honors from Swarthmore College. Her research interests center on applying economic theory and empirical methods to evaluate policies that advance environmental and climate justice. Her honors thesis examined the effects of carbon leakage on localized air pollution emissions in the Global South. At EPIC, her current research focuses on using machine learning to increase the efficiency of EPA hazardous waste inspections and analyzing the efficacy of smart meters in reducing electricity transmission losses in India.
