Liam is a PhD student in Economics at the University of Maryland, College Park. He researches child development and labor econometrics, as well as related fields such as education, intergenerational mobility, and neighborhood effects through both a theoretical and empirical lens.

He grew up in San Francisco, California, and graduated from the University of Chicago in 2020 with Bachelor of Arts degrees in mathematics and economics. Prior to his PhD studies, he worked for three years as a research assistant at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago. He is currently an Adam Smith Fellow at the Mercatus Center and a member of the Economics Graduate Student Association at the University of Maryland.

Apart from professional activities, He enjoys singing and running elaborate Dungeons and Dragons games. He also serves in Kairos Prison Ministry at a prison in Maryland as Continuing Ministry Coordinator.
