Martin Schneider is an expert in the field of financial economics. He investigates ambiguity, credit and money, interest rates and credit risk, housing, and learning in markets.
Prior to his professorship at Stanford University, Schneider held professorships at the University of Rochester, the University of California, Los Angeles and New York University. He also worked as a senior economist at the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis.
Schneider serves as a research associate for the National Bureau of Economic Research. His other professional service includes his editorship of the Review of Economic Dynamics and position as an associate editor of American Journal: Macroeconomics and Economic Theory.
Schneider received his undergraduate diploma from the University of Bonn, Germany and earned a PhD in economics from Stanford University
