Seyed Mohsen Alavi is a pre-doctoral Research Professional working in the Becker Friedman Institute’s Industrial Organization Initiative. He works under the supervision of Professor Ali Hortacsu and Professor Chad Syverson on projects related to Industrial Organization, including topics such as treasury auction markets. Before joining BFI, Seyed graduated from the Sharif University of Technology’s Master of Science in Economics. In his master’s dissertation, he investigated the effect of information feedback on peak load shifting for 2 million households, which is unique in terms of the target population size in the related literature. He also completed a BS.c degree in Industrial Engineering, with a minor in Economics, at the same institution.
