Christopher Walters’ research and teaching covers topics in labor economics, applied econometrics, and the economics of education. His current work includes projects on school choice, school effectiveness, and early childhood interventions.

In addition to his position on the faculty of the department of economics at the University of California, Berkeley, Walters is a faculty research fellow at the National Bureau of Economic Research, and is affiliated with the MIT School Effectiveness and Inequality Initiative.

Walters joined the Berkeley economics department upon receiving his PhD in economics from MIT in 2013. He also holds a BA in economics and philosophy from the University of Virginia.
