Thomas Wollmann is an Associate Professor of Economics at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a Faculty Research Fellow at the National Bureau of Economic Research.

Professor Wollmann studies industrial organization. His research interests include the interaction of product entry and pricing and the impact of this interaction on business and public policy; the relationship between merger policy and firm behavior; regulatory capture (i.e. the potential for subsequent, lucrative private-sector employment to bias the actions of government employees); and the impact of research investment on scientific progress. His work has been published in The American Economic Review.

Prior to joining Chicago Booth, Wollmann worked as an investment banker and entrepreneur.

Wollmann holds a Ph.D. in Business Economics from Harvard University. His pre-doctoral studies were at the New York University Stern School of Business, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Economics and Finance.
